Free-Motion Quilting Class

Free-motion quilting class Saturday August 26th from 12-4pm. Learn all about the basics of free-motion quilting on your very own home machine. Your machine just needs to be able to drop it's feed dogs or have a feed dog cover. There is a supplies list you'll need before class as you need to prepare some mini quilt sandwiches before class. Class fee is $35 plus any supplies you'll need. Call (801)374-6210 or come in to sign up.

Dime Brand Embroidery Event: Beyond the Hoop

Our "Beyond the Hoop" event is June 3rd, 10-2pm. Expert Melissa Booritch will teach skills like how to extend your embroidery past your current hoop size. And learn about machine embroidering large projects tablecloths, shower curtains and drapes. Only $29!

Kids Sewing Class!

May Kids Sew Fun class is Saturday May 13th 10-1pm or 2-5pm. All kids ages 8-13 are welcome. Cost of class is $35 which includes all supplies, materials and use of a sewing machine! Skills they will learn are zipper insertion, flat pockets and handle construction. Call or come in to sign up soon, spaces are limited.

Sew Smart Demo Days

Saturday March 11th at 4pm is the start of our Sew Smart Demo Days and it's FREE! We'll be showing you all kinds of pressing tools, tricks and notions. Have you ever used a Press Perfect Iron Finger? It's one of the fun tools we'll show you. Then there will be a fabric challenge with Henry Glass Quilt Camp campers!

Block Party Block of the Month This Saturday Feb. 18th

Our new Block Party, block of the month, quilt starts this Saturday February 18th at 9am. Come see the new sampler quilt we are making. It's only $60 to join which includes your entry fee, the pattern, the ruler and your first blocks. When you bring your completed block back to the next block party you get next months block kit for free! So you could end up with a completed quilt top for only $60. We are using summery fresh, feminine colors this round. If you have any questions feel free to drop by or call us at (801)373-6210. Stick around after block party and join in with our Free Cotton Stitchers club. Each Cotton Stitchers starts with a small lesson, technique, new ruler, etc. and then we do show and tell with what we've been working on at home! If you bring an item for show and tell you get entered into a raffle drawing.

Instagram for Sewing and Quilting!

Are you on social media? Have you ever wondered what the big deal is about Instagram or need to know how to use it? We are having a free class that will tell you all about Instagram, why to use it, how to get started and some of that basics for sharing your photos of quilts, fabric and sewing. Learn how to connect with the fabric designers, the fabric companies like Moda or Riley Blake and other quilters world wide! It is such an incredibly fun and interactive thing to do with your quilting and sewing. Class is Tuesday February 21 from 12:30-1:30pm or March 9th, from 6-7pm (Thursday).

Kids Class February, Owl Softies

February Kids Sew Fun Class is this Saturday. Morning class is from 10am-1pm and afternoon class is from 2pm-5pm. We'll be making owl softies, stuffed animals. This will teach applique cutting out and application, felt cutting, piecing, boxed corners and stuffing skills. The class is geared towards kids who are 8-13 years old. Machine use and all supplies included. Class Fee $35. Call (801) 373-6210 or come in to sign up! 

Trunk Show with Ten Sisters' Carmen Geddes & Presentation

This Friday January 13th Carmen Geddes from Ten Sisters Designs and Quilt Smart will be doing a trunk show and presentation. From 5pm until 6:30pm or until we're all quilt partied out. This is a free event here at the Provo Cottonshop. Tell all your friends and bring some with you. Ten Sisters have many wonderful quilt designs made with their special grid system. We will also be seeing Quilt Smart quilt designs pre-printed interfacings. These make traditional quilts so fun, fast and easy. This is one of Ten Sisters Designs quilts: Scrappy Chain
